How much money will you get?
The unemployment benefit rate is in principle up to 90 % of your former salary.
However, the daily benefit rate cannot exceed DKK 849,- for five days per week, which is DKK 18,395,- per month. You will get the maximum benefit rate, if you have had a monthly salary of DKK 22,216,- or more.
The benefit rate is calculated on the basis of your salary in the 3 last months of your last employment - 12 weeks, if you have been paid on a weekly basis or every fortnight.
We can only use the employment-period to calculate a new benefit rate,
If the employment have lasted for at least 3 months/12 weeks and if you have had at least 2/3 fulltime employment in this period, which is 24,67 hours or more per week,
if your benefit rate already have been calculated within the last year.
if your salary have been subsidized with public funds.
if you have been self-employed in any part of the 3-month-period.
if you have participated in a SU-recognized education in any part of the 3-month-period
If the unemployment benefits aren't enough you can sign up for an supplementary insurance getting you covered for up to 90 % of your salary.
Conditions for joining CA
You can join CA if you have a job in Denmark. You must apply for membership within two weeks (14 days) of your last day of employment.
Note: If you are an EEA citizen you can join the unemployment insurance fund. You will be eligible for benefit after the same rules as Danish citizens.
If you are a non-EEA citizen, we advise you to contact us to hear more about your options. You can join the unemployment insurance fund after the same rules as Danish citizens. You are, however only eligible for benefit if you have a work permit. The work permit cannot be limited to a certain job or a certain amount of hours. A work permit that you have applied for and received for a specific job is not sufficient. Neither is a 'Student work permit' in those months where you only are allowed to work 15 hours per week. When will you receive your benefit?
You are eligible for benefit when you have been a member for 12 months and have worked for a period equivalent to 52 weeks’ fulll-time employment ( 1924 working hours ) within a three-year period of membership. Please note that you must have a Danish residence and work permit to receive benefit.
What does it cost?
Membership of the CA costs DKK 481,- per month. The amount is tax deductible.
What else do you get?
All CA members are entitled to career counselling and coaching from our career counsellors. They will help you with answers to specific questions or with solving more complex career counselling or coaching processes. All counsellors have a profound knowledge of the job market for business professionals. Counselling can take place in our offices (Gentofte, Odense, Kolding, Aalborg, Aarhus) or by phone or Skype.
Furthermore you can join a wide range of workshops, lectures and so on for free.
CA Legal Support
CA Legal Support provides you the possibility to have a solicitor persuing your job contract and for legal assistance should disagreements with your employer arise that may end up in court. The CA Legal Support subscription is only DKK 50,- a month – and then it is tax deductible. Read more and subscribe to CA Legal Support here (the information is in Danish).
