CA is a safety net giving you insurance benefits if you lose your job. But the financial security is not all. As a career partner we are dedicated to helping you achieving the career of your dreams. We can help you getting the job or inspire you and providing you with new skills if you already have a job.
Below you can read more about becoming a member of CA as an employee. You can also take a closer look at our benefits/services.
How much money will you get?
The unemployment benefit rate is in principle up to 90 % of your former salary.
However, the benefit rate cannot exceed DKK 18,633 per month. You will get the maximum benefit rate, if you have had a monthly salary of DKK 22,504,- or more.
Benefits are calculated on the basis of your income in the last 24 months before the calculation is made.
We calculate your benefit rate on the basis of your 12 highest-earning months of the 24 months. Your monthly benefit rate will make up 90% of your average earnings in those 12 months after deduction for labour market contribution (AMB).
There is no minimum benefit rate, because the rate is always calculated based on your salary in the best 12 months within 24 months.
If you only had a salary in, for example, 10 months rather than 12 months in the last 24 months, we calculate your rate on the basis of the average earnings in those 10 months. If you did not have any earnings in the past 24 months, we go back a further 12 months to calculate your rate based on your average pay during this period.
Once your benefit rate has been calculated, a new rate calculation cannot be made before you have earned the right to a new benefit period.
If the unemployment benefits aren't enough you can sign up for an supplementary insurance getting you covered for up to 90 % of your salary.
Conditions for joining CA
You can join CA if you have a job in Denmark. You must apply for membership within two weeks (14 days) of your last day of employment.
Note: If you are an EEA citizen you can join the unemployment insurance fund. You will be eligible for benefit after the same rules as Danish citizens.
If you are a non-EEA citizen, we advise you to contact us to hear more about your options. You can join the unemployment insurance fund after the same rules as Danish citizens. You are, however only eligible for benefit if you have a work permit. The work permit cannot be limited to a certain job or a certain amount of hours. A work permit that you have applied for and received for a specific job is not sufficient. Neither is a 'Student work permit' in those months where you only are allowed to work 15 hours per week. Contact our expert in the subject on phone +45 3314 9045 or e‑mail firstname.lastname@example.org
When will you receive your benefit?
You are eligible for benefit when you have been a member for 12 months and only if you have had a salary of at least DKK 228.348,- (2018 figures) over the last 3 years. You can include a maximum salary of DKK 19.029,- per month (2018 figures) – and only for periods in which you were a member of an unemployment fund. To meet the requirement, you must have had this income for at least 12 months. Higher earnings will not entitle you to receive benefits sooner. If you have earned less per month, it will take you longer to earn the right to receive benefit. Income amounts are adjusted each year. Check the annual amount here on ca.dk.
