Sickness benefits

Sickness benefits are a social benefit that you may be eligible to receive if you are unable to work for a period of time because of sickness or injury.

Your local municipality is the administrator of the sickness benefits scheme and will pay out the benefits.

However, you may receive benefits from CA if you do not have a permanent part-time job and your sickness or injury is only short-term. If you do not get well within 14 days, you will go from receiving unemployment benefits while sick to receiving sickness benefits. CA will notify your local municipality automatically.

If you have a permanent part-time job, you will not receive any unemployment benefits from CA if you become sick. Instead, you will receive sickness benefits from your local municipality.
